Erotic/Provocative Romance

Erotic Romance, otherwise known as Provocative Romance by Naughty Nights Press authors and readers, and according to a definition from the Romance Writers of America, refers to “novels in which strong, often explicit, sexual interaction is an inherent part of the love story, character growth, and relationship development, and could not be removed without damaging the story line.”

In Provocative Romance there is strong character development and world building, and if you remove the explicit sex scenes, tone them down to behind closed doors or even hinting, skipping the sex scene entirely, it's still a good story albeit more of general or mainstream romance.

Two other often seen terms depicting a definition of erotic romance are: "Provocative Romance" and "Literotica. (Erotic Literature)"
