In Erotica, otherwise known as "Soft Porn," the primary premise of the story plot is the sex.

"The characters are having sex in interesting ways, and with interesting people," or hook ups and one night stands.

The character development and world building present in Erotic/Provocative Romance is not present in Erotica. The primary plot simply revolves around how these people are going to have sex, and the lead up on how they get there or what/who is standing in the way of them having sex, and how to remove the obstacles and get to the sex.

Remove the primary plot of the story, the sex, and you have very little left.
